Great Things Happening at M. H. Moore Elementary!

Our school has great teachers and new surroundings. Our teachers are continuously working to better assist and service our community of learners. They give off extra time in tutoring, Science-night, Math-night, parent and teacher activities. We have teachers who reach out into the community to bring additional assistance rich in experience to share with our students their knowledge and together grow intellectually. We have teachers who continually engage our students in the sport field of soccer, football, baseball and cheer leading. Some of our teachers promote music with extra curriculum activities to encourage musical talent in our students through a school choir.Other teachers journey into our community to display our students talents of art, and other skills in the community.Other teachers take continual education to better assist our students. Other teachers go beyond and search for things to beautify our school and find ways to bring beauty to our school very successfully. This is a great school a place where everyone is welcome and quickly accepted in our team of educators.

It has been a long time!

The almost impossible to believe journey of our reading caterpillar was a success!!! We celebrated, we danced, we read and read. Our readers read, reported and enjoyed feeding our reading caterpillar. This new year 2008-2009 they decided to foster another caterpillar they are experimenting and trying to include AR. Our computers have been problematic in the new inclusion but we are looking forward to a new coming year. We have been magnifying our reading skills by getting our hands on every book we can. We have attended two sessions of "Fall in Love with Reading" at the TCU campus here in Fort Worth Texas. This year our principal was recognized by Score a Goal in the Classroom as the most outstanding principal in all of North Texas.

Read and Empower

Wow! You’ve got to see the number of readers feeding our school bookworm.
It's amazing!
This bookworm has traveled about a 1/4 of a mile if not more.
You have to come see the amazing caterpillar feeding on books our students have reported on and with the support of their parents they are moving mountains of books and making this bookworm digest all their stories about the books they are reading about. Reading is fun and as you read you grow in formation of an imagination, comprehension of interpretation and recognition of perception.

Getting Back to business

Hello again, it is a cold day in November. We will be getting back to school on Monday Nov. 26 2007. This was a long vacation, my students and others too, took many books to read for the holidays. I am anxious to know how big our book worm will grow as we post their reports. I can say that is so much fun to see it getting bigger each day by the feeding our students give him as they read and report on it. You've got to come see it!!! It is great. And our students are getting all the benefit which makes it fantastic!

Science by Reading

Yesterday was a great day. Our Science Lab instructor reminded us that reading was great but not to forget science, because it was an important subject as well. I thought to my self, how could you be forgetting this essential subject if you are doing reading. Then I thought, Great motivational idea to promote genre and specially one you could apply in your academic curriculum.Yea! Mustangs You can do it keep on Reading!GO!GO!

Mustang Poem

Mustang how I love thee. Let me count the books...

Mr Ed wasn't read But he was a horse
And that is why I love him of course
Another equestrian addition to the cavalier
world of his I would say has to be the cheer
-- Ok I can't rhyme, but this post is about our school mascot. He is the red mustang (not the ford), but the horse.
